By July 5, Justin’s health had deteriorated significantly, and his parents were informed that he needed to be placed on life support. During further evaluation, a physician suspected a rare condition known as Clarkson’s disease, or systemic capillary leak syndrome—a disorder that causes fluid and proteins to leak from blood vessels, leading to dangerously low blood pressure, swelling, and potential organ failure.

His parents were eventually told that his body was shutting down and that treatment would not be enough to save him. Surrounded by family, loved ones, and hospital staff, Justin passed away peacefully after his parents made the difficult decision to say goodbye.
