GLENDALE, Arizona — A tragic case involving a missing young woman has taken a devastating turn after police confirmed that 21-year-old Arianna Jones has been found dead near Lake Pleasant. Authorities have taken a man into custody in connection with her death as the investigation continues.
Arianna Jones was last seen at her apartment near 59th Avenue and Northern Avenue before she was reported missing on July 5. Family members became alarmed after being unable to contact her and discovering signs of disturbance inside her home, including damage to the front door. Additional concerns were raised when her wallet was missing, her cell phone was found broken, and her dog had been left in a kennel without food or water.
Loved ones also noted that Arianna had suddenly stopped communicating with her young child, who was staying with relatives at the time. Regular video calls ceased, and messages sent to her phone went unanswered, prompting fears for her safety.
Investigators say Arianna had planned to meet an acquaintance for a movie on the day she disappeared. Police later identified the individual as Domonic Rodolico, who allegedly picked her up from her apartment and never returned her home.
Through surveillance footage, vehicle tracking systems, and cellphone data analysis, detectives were able to trace movements linked to both Arianna and Rodolico. Authorities determined that her phone last signaled near Lake Pleasant in the early hours of July 6. Data also showed that Rodolico had traveled multiple times to a remote and undeveloped area near Lake Pleasant Parkway and West Old Carefree Highway.
On July 11, officials located decomposing human remains in that same area, along with additional items believed to be connected to the case, including clothing and beverage containers.
Police say Rodolico was later observed cleaning out his vehicle and appeared to have an injury on his arm or hand. During questioning, he reportedly gave inconsistent statements, initially claiming that he and Arianna had been attacked by unknown individuals. Investigators say his account changed multiple times and lacked supporting evidence.
According to court documents, detectives believe the crime was premeditated. Authorities stated that Rodolico failed to provide a credible explanation and did not appear to show remorse.
He has since been taken into custody and is facing charges including first-degree murder. Police confirmed he is being held on a $2 million cash bond.
The exact cause of Arianna Jones’ death has not yet been released, and investigators continue working to determine a motive. Authorities say the nature of the relationship between Arianna and the suspect is still under investigation, though initial findings suggest they had only limited contact after meeting on social media.
The case has deeply impacted the Glendale community, with family and friends mourning the loss of a young woman whose life ended under tragic circumstances. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
